We really have been enjoying all the positive e-mail and comments we’re receiving here at the Collective Identity headquarters. It’s obvious that there are many of you who really enjoy the site's content. Because we know you’re there, we’re going to ask for your help.

As we were developing this site, one day all of a sudden, the news aggregator stopped working and our status page started to report that the site could no longer check for updates. It was the dreaded "HTTP request status fails" message that many Drupal users have been struggling with lately (http://drupal.org/node/227791 and http://drupal.org/node/245853).

After some digging around in the code, I realized a couple of things. One had to do with the site hosting service I'm using at the moment (godaddy.com free hosting). The other was how Drupal 6 handles outgoing HTTP requests.

CollectiveIdentity.net is seeking individuals to contribute to the content of our news, reviews, and howtos site. If you are a social networking guru, or strong critic and want your opinions put out there please give us a shout.

Well I've done a reboot of The Collective Identity Project and will post more information here in the weeks to come describe what will be new.
One of the new things here is a complete change of format. This site was at one time host to the content of the collective identity project, a open source content collaboration tool. Obviously, that is gone now and we've become a news, reviews, and howtos site. We hope you like it here.
